South Park Movie review
You're probably wondering (quite rightly so!) why a pictures site
would have a review. Well, when "South Park: Bigger, Longer and
Uncut" was released, we thought we'd just have to have our say on
the site.
If you're Canadian, I wouldn't watch it!
Synopsis
When the four boys see an R-rated movie featuring Canadians
"Terrance & Phillip", they are pronounced "corrupted",
and their parents pressure the United States to wage war against Canada.
The actual review
After the first 5 minutes of the film, I gradually got the impression
that this film was going to, regrettably, have a plot based around the
Canadian duo Terrance & Phillip. I'm sure most people don't watch South
Park for the childish toilet humour that T&P provide, so I was surprised
to see them having a central role in the film. Putting that aside however,
there were many humourous moments throughout the film, and it a had a number
of highlights - namely, hearing them cursing without the bleeps, seeing
Cartman without his hat, and seeing Kenny without his trademark orange
coat. It was good to see the return of Satan and to hear Cartman singing
his "Kyle's Mom is a Bitch" song again.
If you don't like lots of singing, don't go and see it. It was so full
of singing it reminded me a bit of Grease or a Walt Disney film - it
seems like Matt and Trey are trying to rival Mr. Disney's films like
"The Lion King", "The Little Mermaid" etc. Some of
the songs were quite good though, namely Uncle F*cker and Cartman's songs.
