Having trouble with the screensaver? You'll probably find the answer
on this page.
Installing the screensaver
Click on the 'Download' link and when prompted, select
"Run this file from its current location" (or similar).
Once the file has downloaded the installation will start:
you can just keep pressing 'Next'.
Leave the "Open the Screensaver Control Panel" option
selected as it makes it easy to select the screensaver.
The screensaver control panel will appear. Select your
screensaver in the list, and if desired change the delay.
Click OK: that's it
Selecting the screensaver and changing settings
You only need to do this if you didn't select the screensaver during
installation, or if the screensaver on your computer has been
changed.
Open the Control Panel (see below for instructions).
Select the screensaver from the list.
If you want to change any options click on 'Settings' and then
alter the delay between fixtures/trivia being displayed.
Upgrading the screensaver
One the best features of the screensaver is that you can upgrade
its trivia and fixtures list. This is very simple and easy to do.
Open the Control Panel (see below for instructions).
Select the screensaver from the list.
Click on 'Settings'.
Click on 'Check for upgrades (update fixture list)'.
Your web browser (usually Internet Explorer) will open
and you will be told if there is an upgrade available.
Follow the instructions on the page to upgrade your screensaver.
I just downloaded the screensaver but I'm getting the message
"Some of your fixtures are out of date" or "All of your fixtures are
out of date".
Whenever you download the screensaver, the bundled data file was
included whenever the screensaver's installer was made. As updating
these installers is quite a time-consuming task, they are not updated
that frequently, so you might get one with an old data file. This is
not a problem however, as you can just upgrade the screensaver
(see above) to get new fixtures.
Opening the Control Panel
Exactly how you open the Control Panel depends on your version of
Windows.
Windows XP:
Click on Start.
Click on 'Control Panel'.
Double click on 'Appearance and Themes'.
Click on 'Choose a screensaver'.
If these instructions don't work, then you have probably changed
your Windows XP Control Panel to 'Classic View', in which case you
should follow these instructions:
Click on Start.
Click on 'Control Panel'.
Double click on 'Display'.
Click on the 'Screen Saver' tab.
Windows 98 and 95:
Click on Start.
Click on 'Control Panel'.
Double click on 'Display'.
Click on the 'Screen Saver' tab.
